It was another fun, winter-night, after-work run home. I cut over west right after passing the Universität der Künste near Spichernstraße, which is more interesting running than heading straight down Bundesallee. This direction toward Dahlem is comprised of mostly quiet streets through Friedenau and the Rheingauviertel with fewer cars and the scenery is mostly beautifully-lit houses on either side. The only caveat is that you have patches of shadows on the sidewalks at times where you have to be careful where you are running, but for the most part, it's open and free running, often down the middle of the street when no cars are in sight.
My 5K was fast and strong again, getting the exact same time I got last week: 23:51. But I've been able to lengthen my strides and run stronger in my last few runs, so I expect some downward spikes in my times soon, when legs and lungs both peak on the same day.
