The last training run of the 2016/17 Winter Training Season, Gisi and I got out the door to quite sunny, early Spring weather at 14:00 and did an easy 11K in preparation as a warm up for next week's Berlin Half Marathon. We took off down the Teltow canal until we got to the Ullsteinhaus, then took a turn up a couple streets through Metzplatz at the Vivantes Wenckabach Klinikum, then east and down through a quite industrial looking area back down to the Ullsteinhaus and back homeward along the Teltow canal. We definitely got in sufficient training this winter season for the half marathon next week, Gisi and I doing numerous weekly runs above 15K and one long 23K run. The plan for the race is: Gisi run's her constant pace while I hover around getting water and providing gels, soaking up the festive atmosphere and chatting with the international runners, and we hope to run a 02:26 as always. Looking forward to running with Thorsten, Till, Frank, Simon, and the rest of the 23,000+ runners on the 21K course next Sunday.
