20K Steglitz-Dahlem-Zehlendorf Run with Gisi
Gisi and I signed up for the Poznan Half Marathon this weekend, so we need to get in a couple half-marathon-length training runs before April 14th, almost one month away. The weather was variable throughout the morning, but we got out around 13:00 during overcast and no rain, but throughout the run experienced everything from rain to hail to sunshine. The route went through the Stadtpark to Rathaus Steglitz, then up past the Botanischer Garten, then Königin-Luise-Straße straight into the Grunewald, out and around Krumme Lanke and then back, successfully finding the wonderful 1.5-kilometer Thielpark/Triestpark pathway from the Alliierten Museum to the Free University and then toward Dahlem back home. Gisi notified me via her Garmin when we were at 19.5 kilometers and I found a Drive Now car in Dahlem right at 20K, and as a reward for a long, steady run we had a nice, dry ride home as it started to rain.
