6K Morning Run Through Warsaw
I set my alarm for 4:30 this morning with the plan to go on a mega-run through Warsaw out to the River Vitula, then down through the Altstadt, and then perhaps follow my 2016 marathon route down through the beautiful Łazienki Park and then back up through some yet undiscovered parts of south Warsaw.

However, when my alarm went off, I looked out the window and saw that it was very dark, heavily raining, cold and windy, so I decided to wait until it at least got light out and perhaps when the rain died down, since I only had my t-shirt and shorts. By 7:30 it was light and I couldn't hear the rain anymore, so I got ready and out the door at 8:00 to a bright Warsaw, no rain, cool and not very windy.

Since I only had an hour before we wanted to get going for our day of sight-seeing in Warsaw, I simply ran out to the river, then along the embankment which I find to be a very pleasant, wide-open place, then up into the Old Town and back across town to the hotel, a nice, quick, refreshing 6-kilometer run with plenty to see as Warsaw was on its way to work and the tourist hoards had not yet arrived.
