Got out the door at work at about 17:30 into a cold, dark night through the city, but with my new, yellow running jacket and neck and head wraps, I was nice and warm, perfect temperature to run actually. After a 7K warm-up run to Tiergarten, I ran a fast 5K, finally getting under 24 minutes again. Interestingly my best 5K times were also one year ago from November to January (2017-11-22: 24:08, 2017-11-29 23:48, and in January 2018-01-07 23:17 and 2018-01-14 23:19. We'll see if I can get back down to those times again. There's seems to be something about running in extremely cool temperatures at night that is conducive to speed. In any case, it was a fun run, and after my 5K, I did a quick 8K back home through Schöneberg and Steglitz listening to Sam Harris' conversation with Derren Brown.
