Got out the door around noon for this year's first run, the city streets trashed from last nights New Year's fireworks revelry. During my warm-up run, the weather changed from a cold, strong, wet wind, to almost spring-like blue patches of sky and sun. So running conditions were perfect during my 5K and my first two kilometers I was 3-5 seconds ahead of my time last week but couldn't hold the pace for the full five kilometers, although I got my 8th sub-24 time in a row, even after two weeks of Christmas eating. Over Christmas, I learned a weight-loss tip from a friend: Consume no calories after any training for the same duration of your training, to allow your body to burn fat, so started that today. 47 days until the Seville Marathon.
