11K to IKEA and Back with Timed 5K (24:35)
My 12-year old daughter said she wanted to ride her bike during my timed 5K today, but unlike my 15-year-old daughter who served more of a pacer bike function during my run, my 12-year-old daughter served more of a photographer function. After we returned home, I found 132 photos from her sent via WhatsApp. Already before the run, I felt in my legs a sign that I was going to beat my record today, and at the first kilometer I was about 10 seconds ahead of my fastest pace. Having started at 17:00, the heat was minimal and I ran hard down Priesterweg and especially under the Priesterweg bridges, and hard down the last stretch to indeed beat my record by 5 seconds. I hope to keep knocking seconds off my record time in this fashion throughout the summer to be able to get into the 23s by the end of September. We'll see. Potsdam Half Marathon in three weeks.
