le Dieu a crée les aliments, les vêtement, et herbes, arbres et fruits, outre les diverses utilités qu'il nous en donne
il a distingué les , que les unes ont plus de grâce que les autres
il a donné quelque grâce à l'or, à l'argent, à l'ivoire et au marbre pour les rendre plus précieux et nobles que les autres métaux et pierres
nous ne sommes pas des de bois, nous avons des sentiments, le plaisir a sa place dans l'existence humaine, jusqu'à un certain bien entendu
tous les biens que nous avons ont été créés afin que nous en reconnaissions l'auteur et magnifions sa bégninité par action de grâce
la réponse humaine à la bonté du Père, c'est la piété et la
une révérence et amour de Dieu conjointes ensemble
qui est ce Dieu créateur?
il est le Père, et le Père aime ses enfants comme une mère, et même davantage qu'une mère n'aime ses enfants
pour Calvin, le Christ, dès le commencement, a été la du Père, vivifiante, fontaine et origine de vie dont toutes les choses ont eu la vertu de subsister
quand Dieu dit: que la soit, et quand Dieu prononce les autres paroles créatrices, c'est dans sa Parole, son Verbe, qu'il prononce et qu'il crée tout cela, et pour Calvin, le Verbe, la Parole, c'est le Christ.

une ferme et certaine connaissance de la bonne volonté de Dieu envers nous
des théologiens réformés contemporains sont en train de réfléchir aux manières de parler de la providence divine sans tomber dans un total où toute chose qui arrive est en fait déterminée, dirigée par Dieu
Calvin est conscient de la tension, voire de la contradiction présente dans ce propos, à savoir Dieu accomplit ce qu'il décrète même par l'oeuvre des , et en même temps ils sont inexcusables, leur responsabilité n'a pas disparu
