Yes . christopher: You are a genius programmer, youre website is one of the best ive seen for quite some time. Well done.
I have a 2.6GHz dual core AMD with 4GB Ram and want to create 4 VMs, using Vmware server
Im trying to find out if i can set up 4 VMs on one system.
Im learning to program in parallel with openMP MPI and C. My aim is to parallelize my code then test it out by sending it to the 4 vms to see if my programs are good. Obviously would be slow, but a good learning tool all the same.
OpenSUSE 10.2 does has all mpi stuff and it also provides PBS batch scheduling system which is pretty much similar to the SGE we have on our Cray here at Aston University, Birmingham, England.
I just need to work out if this is possible through using your tutorial a few times over...if you know what i mean.
I use openSUSE10.2, Ubuntu feisty and XP as my OSs...two pcs, ones dual boot. suse is on its own.
Any advice welcome.
kind regards
Chris | Edward: I know WMWare 5 has some nice features to e.g. start a "team" (I think they call it) of machines at the same time. So you can set up a number of VMs that act as web server, database server and then have a Suse client and XP client and do load testing and such. It was always a bit slow but that was 2005 and I know I didn't have 4GB. Worth trying out. I hear VMWare 6 is out so definitely worth checking out for these issues. |
patel: Hi. can i use VM player instead of vm server/workstation? i mean install vm player n then fedora? replyreply Edward: Right, you install the operating system with workstation, then use it with the player. | BILAL HUSSAIN: HI,
