Web Developer
go here if you are looking for code and links on web development

Here you will find my over 900 code examples that I have collected since 2001 in dozens of languages from PHP to Perl to C# to Excel VBA to Python, Java and Ruby and I add new ones as I learn them. You can also take my free online tutorials mostly on how to install things and get going with different languages and development tools such as Perl and Java and Netbeans, etc. I also do books reviews and take notes on training videos that I have from Video2Brain and Galileo Computing (videos are in German). If you are a Windows user who wants to learn Linux, take my Free Workshop: Install Ubuntu Linux on Windows XP.

Datapod
go here if you are looking for a free tool to create PHP 5 websites fast

Datapod is a web framework that I wrote in PHP 5 which allows you to easily create fast and flexible content-management websites. I just finished rewriting every line of code for version 0.30 which has lots of advantages over the old 0.19 version: it doesn't require SQLite or XSLT so it runs on every provider which supports PHP5 and runs on Windows, Linux, UNIX and Mac. It doesn't even require a database since it uses text files accessed via DQL (Datapod Query Language). It's unique, efficient and going places, check it out.

"Simply put, Thank You! I have spent hours and hours trying to configure Apache, PhP, and MySQL, nothing worked until I found this site. Everything else reads like stereo instructions not knowing if you are doing the right thing or not. This site is different. It ROCKS!!!! Once again, Thank you." - Mitch

Marathon Running
go here if you want to be inspired to run a marathon

I completed the Berlin Marathon last fall with my second best time: 04:14:28 and just did a slow spring marathon in Hannover. Now starts the training for my first sub-four marathon in Berlin this September. Visit this site if you are interested in doing a marathon and don't think you have enough time and want to be motivated. I have links to my other Marathon running sites from 2007 and 2006: you can see pictures of the Berlin Marathon, my Berlin South-Wall run, Treptow Park run, and some others. Plus there's the link to my 2006 running blog that I had going with my brother Pete with our reports of the Munich and Memphis marathons we did for our 40th and 50th birthdays. Run hard, stay young!

Improv for Life
go here if you want to loosen up

This site is a collection of activities for improv workshops, great for healthy teams of all kinds. Good improv habits are better than most motivational workshops (they aren't so serious) and there is something about improv (irreverence? spontaneity?) that makes it a necessary exercise for the soul. Until I get some content here, check out these improv games.
Learn Business and IT English
go here if you want to improve your English

When I do Business and IT English training here in Berlin, I create accounts for the participants on this site where they can log in and improve their English based on areas in which they make the most errors. Visitors to this site can correct and learn from these errors that others have made.
The Wide Reader
go here if you want to widen your mind

The goal of this reading exercise is to read an extremely wide spectrum of topics. Most of the reading material consists of 1-2 page online articles.
